Loudoun School Board Approves 2027-28 School Year Calendar

The Loudoun County School Board has approved Calendar Option One for the 2027-2028 school year. Following extensive planning and community input, similar to the process for the 2026-27 calendar approved in February, the board finalized key dates.

The school year will begin on Thursday, August 19, 2027, and end on Wednesday, June 14, 2028. Winter break is scheduled from Tuesday, December 20, 2027, to Monday, January 3, 2028, with spring break set for April 10-14, 2028.

The approved student calendar includes 180 scheduled days, detailing student holidays and breaks. Calendar options were designed with one featuring a slightly earlier start and end date. The corresponding teacher calendar includes 194 assigned workdays, aligned with the student calendar.
