Loudoun County schools, along with four other Northern Virginia districts, face federal funding cuts after refusing to comply with administration demands to reverse transgender bathroom and locker room policies.

The Department of Education initiated the funding cut process hours after the districts—Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William—maintained their policies allowing students to use facilities matching their gender identity, risking hundreds of millions in aid as schools reopen.
