Safeway Broadlands Village Center Out, Hello Aldi

As everyone knows, the Safeway at Broadlands Village Center shut down last year. Many of you have followed the progress of the new Aldi store being build in its place. Saul Centers has already listed Aldi as a tenant on its website. The new Aldi store is projected to open later this year. It can’t come soon enough.

But if many of you dont know what an Aldi grocery store is and what their stores look like. Below is a video from Aldi California explaining who they are and what they offer which may give you a glimpse into what we could see in the new Broadlands store.

 

Here is an Aldi FAQ which give you more insight into their brand and what types of products they carry.

  • More than 90% of the products in Aldi stores are Aldi exclusive brands.
  • Aldi does carry fresh meats, fruits, vegetables & baking goods.
  • You will have to pay a quarter ($0.25) or a shopping cart, it is refundable but shopping carts are not free.
  • Shopping bags are NOT free so bring your own bags.
  • Open only during peak business hours, which is usually 9am-8pm Monday-Saturday, 10am-7pm on Sundays.
